5×50 Challenge – Day 46 and 47

Day 46 and I walked 8km in the morning, and we were planning on walking another 5km in the evening, but Eduardo the alpaca intervened and caused Lorna an injury so she was unable to walk. So today, Day 47, I walked 13km this morning and this evening Lorna and I went for a short 30 minute walk. She should be back to her best tomorrow.

So far we have raised £350.53 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne.

Hi there, can you explain what the 5×50 challenge is for me please?
I have just finished reading both of your books and Lorna’s too and really enjoyed the them. It’s great to read a ‘warts and all’ adventure such as yours! I really hope that all your beautiful alpacas and the rest of the menagerie are keeping well with no more unwelcome viral infections etc.
We are moving to Spain in September and can’t wait!!
How are things going business wise with the alpacas now do you think? Can you see it being profitable in the future?
I am looking forward to the next book, don’t take too long lol!
    Best wishes
    Kay 🙂

Hi Kay, I am so sorry I have only just seen this post.
The 5×50 was a challenge to walk at least 5km a day for 50 days.. We did it to raise money for a hospice in Eastbourne, where I come from.
The alpacas are well, as are the dogs, although we lost Geri recently, but she was 16 and it was her time.
How exciting that you are moving to Spain soon, where abouts are you moving to?
It was always our plan to make a living from the alpacas, and so far we havent been able to do it, but we have now realised that we need to move to try and achieve this, hence the post I did on here yesterday.
Book 3 is well under way, hopefully released in the autumn.
      Alan
